“I blame this entire situation on HGTV,” Colin said. “Somebody got addicted to watching all these home flipping shows – where you buy a property, renovate it completely, and sell it for a profit.” He glanced toward his partner Rene, who was doing their best to look innocent. “So before you know it, we’ve got this little place in Westchester that needs a ton of work.”
Doing the work wasn’t a problem, but finding a way to dispose of the construction debris, which included some decrepit furniture left behind by former owners as well as the ugliest shag carpeting either of them had ever seen. “Who knew anyone liked orange that much?” Rene asked.
Renting a dumpster in New York is the most sensible way to handle the construction debris. “We called County Waste Management and they brought the dumpster right to our door,” Colin said. “It was so simple and easy. I explained what we were doing, and they hooked us right up. All we have to do is toss the wreckage in the dumpster, and they cart it away. Nothing could be easier.”
